Science Sunday for Kids
Science Sunday brings hundreds of children ages 5-12 to the University of Alberta campus to experience collections-based science first-hand. Children enjoy a unique learning experience, engage with museum objects, and interact with university researchers, benefiting from their knowledge and expertise.
Through guided, hands-on activities, kids become junior researchers, learning about the different areas of science from archaeology to zoology. Most importantly, kids have fun, participating in, amongst others, the following activities:
- fossil detection and impression creation
- an archaeology dig
- meteorite, insect, and plant specimen identification
- learning about minerals in our daily lives
This year is the thirteenth annual Science Sunday. Volunteer opportunities will be announced by early-February.
